WHAT DO WE HAVE HERE ?.....FRESH NEW TALENT.....THAT'S  WHAT!!

a hot and sassy chick......giving us pure synth delights of tunes reflecting times of excellent clubbing music......from soft ambient to banging trance....this girl has talent.......its only a matter of time before she scoops the big time {well, lets hope so anyway} for the tunes she has composed wouldn't be far away from the clubbers guide ala ministry of sound!!!

just my opinion, but if you need reassuring go check out her new album.....A NEW HORIZON......if you don't feel the vibe after that you aren't listening!!...my own fave tune on this album......track five, called ADRENALINE RUSH......... it does exactly what it says on the tin Wink Rolling Eyes Laughing Cool

also check out her ambient album........ESCAPISM......crammed full of chill out tunes......to relax and unwind to......you can imagine hearing the haunting sounds of the Gregorian chants, echoes of Benedictine monks and the eerie sound of panpipes softly bowing through the winds of time....but yet these sounds have been created using today's techno with synths!!.......do not pass by without first hearing this before making judgment.......everyone needs to chill out at some point and have sacred time for themselves.......take my advice and at least hear it out .......I'm sure you'll not be disappointed!!

A New Horizon – Tiffany Lunn

Rather than a collection of distinctive song-like keyboard melodies, Tiffany's latest album presents a journey of moody tight analog sequences and arpeggiator patterns coated with a sweet and warm blanket of delicious synth textures and soundscapes. With a modern Jarresque feel, each track presents variations of modern synth electronica, mixing rich pads and tight pulsating sequences of electro-pop. There are many new sounds throughout this album courtesy of Tiffany's latest instrument, the Korg Triton, which give all her tracks a very solid professional feel. The cd opens with a clean spacey percussive sequence, under woven with warm rich Triton textures and a 'twangy' analog bassline. Percussion is always minimal but well constructed, comprising a subtle but effective 'Kraftwerk' style clap trap arrangement amongst other retro analog percussive sounds. In "Light-Speed" the sweeping atmospheric pads continue over 80's feel sequences and a solid kicking drum beat. Well constructed chord sequences and clean drum programming add variety to this moody soundtrack. In the title track "A new horizon" Tiffany introduces more of a dance feel, combining brighter synthesized patterns with thick keyboard textures. Again the drums have a suitable electro feel to them, and sit well in the overall mix. A watery cascade of synth effects and washes of gorgeous evolving Korg textures open "Below the surface", whilst "Adrenaline rush" pumps up the tempo somewhat in a trance-like style of syncopated filtered synth arpeggios, octaved analog bass lines and a straight 4/4 time beat. Tiffany has chosen to reserve any strong dance influence to the album, this track for instance is kept to just under 3 minutes.  As we move past the half way line in this intriguing aural journey, the distinctive soft bell-like melody in "silent running" provides an interesting and catchy diversion from the other atmospheric tracks of the album. A futuristic introduction of glistening synthy textures, electronic snare patterns and a clean elastic bass takes us through the next track "calling home", again some slight trance-like influences but nothing that shouts out too loud. The soundscapes continue through "Dancers and Dreamers", plenty of squishy filtered arpeggiator patterns, programmed percussion and evolving filter sweeps. In the penultimate track we are treated to a light and poppy trip of uplifting chord sequences, tight sequenced bass lines and washes of thick lush synth and piano synth. Finally Astral Pulse presents a somewhat familiar chord sequence, quicker in tempo and another successful blend of syncopated electro-pop percussion and analog sequenced arpeggios, underlayed with washes of delicious Korg synth pads.

Overall the album is a radical shift forward from Tiffany's debut cd, the Triton certainly adds a professional feel and some sumptuous sounds to indulge the listener. I did feel though that perhaps there wasn't as much variety amongst the tracks as I would have liked, both musically and sound wise. Tiffany chooses to play each track safe, using established sounds and repetitive sequences. The result is a well balanced soundtrack without surprises, ideal for chilling, background and soundtracks. Tiffany has done a great job putting this cd together and it most definitely deserves a listen!
